I want to shout a loud THANK YOU to all of you who so kindly donated some of your money to my fundraiser for research into myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome.
It has been one of the proudest achievements of my life. Not just because of the amount you all raised ($600!!!) for it, but also through the many messages of support you have sent me throughout the past six weeks. You have made me feel seen and cared about. It means more than I can say.
And if you come to this site at a later date and would like to know more: I have created a page with links to earlier blog posts on the topic of ME/CFS and my fundraiser here. There you can find more info on the illness and about what life is like with chronic and invisible illness.
Again, thank you so much for your interest and support!
Lastly, I hope that after we all got our jabs in our arms and lockdown is eased all across the globe and the world starts to open up again, that you won’t forget those all around you – visible to you or not – who live with a chronic illness. Those whose worlds haven’t opened up in a long time, because they have been confined to their bed or their house for so long now and for the foreseeable future. Don’t forget them, check in with them, when you are once again able to live your life outside.
